26 teams took part in the Ladies Autumn AmAm at the Beverley and East Riding Golf Club on Friday 9th September 2011. The weather was balmy and the strong winds of the earlier part of the week had abated. Hainsworth sent a strong contingent of 24 ladies and others came from various locations including Rotherham and York. The course was in excellent condition and the greenkeepers had not been too severe in their location of the pins. The full results may be viewed in the attachment below.

mpetitors took part in the 2's club, but only 1 player managed to get a 2. One team who chose not to take part (and who shall remain nameless) managed two 2's in the round. If only they had known...
The winner of the "nearest the line" competition held on the 2
nd hole was Liz Marchant of Hull Golf Club; her drive was about 6 inches from the line. The 18th hole had a nearest the hole competition and it was was won by Linda Watson of Brough whose drive was within a yard from the flag.
The third place prize went to a team from Brough who led a group of teams all of whom scored 137. An early start meant they were leaders in the club house until after 6 o'clock. The team comprised C Waights, C Ellerington, G Johnson and J Corbitt. Their good back nine of 67 was decisive in keeping them ahead of a team from Cottingham who were squeezed into fourth place.
The runners up scored 136, one less than the third place team. One of two teams from Cottingham, they comprised K Anderson, L Wright, K Mysku and A Briggs.
The winners by three clear shots were a team of Lynn Bray, Lis Ives and Jenny KcKay from Beverley and Denise Wakeman from Pike Hills, York. Their 133 was the last score of the day and was a good all-round performance from the team especially on the par 3 holes.
Many of the teams enjoyed the carvery provided by the caterers, June and Denise. A good day's golf and chat indeed!
